Role Overview
Development of sales activity for the Territory.
1. Basic Statement of Duties (Including but not limited to)
The position will report to the Sales Manager and work closely with the sales and technical teams on all aspects of business development.
The position will be responsible for establishing, cultivating and maintaining sales potentials by actioning set strategies and plans to introduce new products, maintain current business and seek new business opportunities.
This will require the building of trusting relationships with new and existing customers across the Territory. The customer base will span across the NHS, private hospitals, veterinary, University, environmental, pharmaceutical, food and water and Biotech laboratories.
The position works under the supervision of the General Manager and the Sales Manager.
Specific responsibilities will include (but not be limited to)
- Responsible for the performance and development of business in the assigned sales territory,
Achieving sales targets set by the Sales Manager.
Developing business plans with the senior management and a sales strategy for the market launch of new products that ensures attainment of company sale goals and profitability.
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of action plans for individuals as well as the team for effective search of sales leads, product launches and prospects.
- Assist in the development and coordination of such development action plans to penetrate new markets.
- Provide timely and accurate competitive pricing on product competitors, monitor in field pricing and quotations in line with agreed possible discount levels, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted using the company CRM system.
- Create and conduct product presentations for individual customers and customer network groups.
- Set examples and lead by example, for the sales team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
- Maintain contact with all customers in the market area to ensure high levels of customer engagement and satisfaction. In support of company's products and services.
- Attend regular training with the sales team to build confidence in the promotion of the products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The chosen candidate will:
- Develop in all aspects of supplier relationship management, including direct supplier/customer sales as well as primary MSC/Third party supplier arrangements.
- Gain a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Have proven experience in/or understanding of Microbiology, Virology or Molecular Biology methods.

- Be willing to travel across the UK and Europe when required.
- Be highly motivated, and work well as part of a supportive sales team.
- Gain understanding of all SOP's relevant to the position.
- Be familiar with the Pro-Lab Group Quality Manual and Employee Hand Book.
- Have an understanding of COSHH and Health and Safety where appropriate.
Person Specification
- BSc degree qualification in Biomedical Science or similar.
- Have proven experience in/or understanding of Microbiology, Virology or Molecular Biology methods.
- Basic computer skills: Word and Excel.
- Full British Driving Licence.
Package
Base salary between £40,000 - £55,000 dependant on experience, however there could be flexibility for the right candidate
