Role Overview

A great opportunity for a recent life science or related graduate who has some sales experience in any industry, looking to start a career in scientific sales for a progressive and exciting company.

TERRITORY: East England
PRODUCTS: Cellular Pathology consumables and laboratory equipment.
CUSTOMERS: NHS, Private Hospitals, Hospital Laboratories and Academia.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Job Purpose & Objectives:
1. Supporting the management of Sales Strategies for UK Northern territory.
2. Maintaining and developing existing accounts with emphasis on targeting new accounts.
3. Achieving annual sales targets.
4. Carrying out sales visits with recorded visit reports.
5. Gathering market Intelligence information relating to customers/clients and competitors.

Job Responsibilities and Major Tasks:
• Setting customer visit priorities as defined within the Sales Strategy.
• Completing sales visits in a timely manner.
• Self-Motivation to achieve agreed sales and performance targets.
• Identifying, prioritising and progressing training needs as identified in the training matrix to ensure team flexibility.
• Provide sales territory updates at the monthly sales meeting (including exhibition feedback on sales leads).
• Attendance at exhibitions and trade shows.
• Communicate performance against defined targets.
• Quotation generation and follow up.
• Sample request generation and follow up.
• Managing tenders and following up within agreed timescales after closing date.
• Regular communications with customer care team.

Person Specification

• Degree in a life science degree, Biomedical Sciences or related discipline.
• Experience working in a sales/target-based position either during or after University OR post-degree laboratory experience with histology techniques.
• Full product and sales training is provided.
