As a result of growth, my client is now looking to recruit a Technical Sales Specialist to visit and consultatively sell both reagents and instruments to their life science customers across the South and West UK.

PRODUCTS: Life Science instruments and reagents
TERRITORY: South and West UK (key accounts in London)

Job Details
- The team will be expected to grow business in this region by 10% per annum. The Technical Sales Specialist will be expected to contribute significantly to the growth of this business.
- The Technical Sales Specialist will utilise appropriate sales techniques to protect existing business and to drive new sales across the whole of the South and West Region via direct face to face customer meetings or virtual meetings including Teams and other remote applications. Since the COVID pandemic, the use of virtual meetings will be the priority.
- In conjunction with the Technical Sales Manager and UK Sales Manager, formulate strategies to increase sales and promote new and exciting products.
- Management of opportunity pipelines from initial enquiries to close of business across the full product range including reagents, instruments and biospecimens.
- As part of the team, deal with all in bound sales enquiries and ensure that these are dealt with in a timely manner and ensure that the inbound enquiries are converted to further conversations about the wider product portfolio.
- Engage with company campaigns to promote products and services that are of key importance to the business, as guided by the UK Sales Manager, marketing team, and the Business Management Team.
- Undertake instrument demonstrations and installations either on site with customers or remotely via Teams or other virtual applications.
- Ensure all customer contacts, opportunities and other activities are logged into our CRM system SalesForce.com within a timely manner and be prepared to report all activity to the Technical Sales Manager and UK Sales Manager as requested.
- Report to the Business Management team monthly, regarding high value opportunities for reagents, instruments and biospecimens.
- Engage with all supplier and internal training courses including product training, sales training, and other administrative training courses.

Skills and Experience Required:
- A life sciences degree, with either a PhD or significant laboratory experience
- Minimum of two years field sales experience in the life sciences sector
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- High level of self-motivation and a passion for selling new technologies
- The ability to educate customers, tailor information and take control of a sales opportunity
- Excellent communication skills: via telephone, email, video calls and directly face to face
- Ability to plan, co-ordinate and implement activities effectively
- Full driving licence
