Technical Sales Representative

A great opportunity to move into specialist chromatography sales for applicants with either scientific sales experience OR currently working in a laboratory, with an analytical chemistry background and desire to move into scientific sales!

Full product and sales training is provided. The position is field-based travelling to customer sites across the region with around one day per week working from home.

TERRITORY: Scotland and North East UK
PRODUCTS: Chromatography consumables and columns (focus on HPLC and GC)
CLIENTS: Academic, Research and Pharmaceutical Laboratories

Role Responsibilities:
· Establish and develop excellent working relationships with customers within the geographical region.
· Follow up on leads and enquiries generated by marketing campaigns, exhibitions, mailing lists and other marketing material.
· Generate and deliver the business plan for this region, focus on maintaining the customer base as well as executing strategies to grow the business.
· Deliver product demonstrations and provide troubleshooting support to customer when required.
· Organise technical seminars, work and co-ordinate with suppliers to deliver joint talks.
· Represent the business at exhibitions, seminars, trade conferences and supplier exhibits.
· Analyse business activity and prepare a quarterly report to help with reviews and monitor region progress.
· Ensure excellent market knowledge and awareness of competitor activity in this region.

Person Specification:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related science.
Minimum of 1-2 years post-degree experience in either scientific sales OR working in a laboratory with analytical chemistry experience.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including ability to make presentations.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
If moving into scientific sales, need to demonstrate a commercial mind-set and desire to move into a customer focused scientific role.
