Elemental Analysis Instrumentation, TOC analysers and inorganic chemistry instrumentation- fault finding, repair, service & maintenance.

Field Service Engineer - UK and International travel

A great opportunity for a scientist holding a PhD or with post-degree laboratory experience working as a Chemist, Analyst or equivalent role, looking to move into a service engineer role involving instrument installations, maintenance and repairs.

Experience of instrument maintenance and troubleshooting in a laboratory is essential, experience with ICP, XRD, XRF or AA spectroscopy is preferred.

Main Responsibilities:
Perform installations, PMs, repairs, upgrades, compliance testing and training for customers both in the UK and globally
Ensure all service contract work is carried out promptly and efficiently
Maintain an excellent quality relationship with all customers ensuring loyalty and repeat business
Testing of upgrade and repairs in the factory
Assist commercial team to identify and develop business potential for instruments and upgrades
Liaise with customer support to ensure required parts are delivered to customers promptly
Develop and maintain product support documentation including manuals and knowledgebase documents

Experience:
Scientific degree or relevant experience
Experience in servicing or troubleshooting scientific equipment in this or a related relevant field
Customer-focused mindset
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to work independently, remotely and self-motivated to achieve goals
Good level of computer literacy
