This is an excellent opportunity for a BSc/MSc educated life scientist with post-degree laboratory experience, a PhD educated life scientist looking to move into scientific field sales OR an experienced scientific sales representative to join a reputable privately owned manufacturer of life science consumables! The position is predominately account management focused, but does also involve new business development.

TERRITORY: London.

PRODUCTS: Laboratory life science consumables.

CUSTOMERS: University (research and teaching), biotechnology, pharmaceutical, hospital (excluding NHS), food, brewing, chemical and water.

The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for managing and developing the company's commercial relationships and interests throughout London. Included in this is the necessity to build long-term relationships with the company's customer base to maintain and develop revenue streams and maximise profits in-line with company expectations. The Account Manager will oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities. The role is field based and involves travel on a weekly basis throughout London. Tasks include direct selling, sales support, strategic planning, account and project management along with marketing.


PRICIPLE TASKS:

• Develop new business sales with existing clients across the whole of London, including upselling and cross-selling from the company product portfolio, and identify areas of improvement to meet sales targets.
• Arrange and conduct customer meetings with an expectation of 4 days per week being spent in-field and 6 customers appointments arranged per day.
• Negotiate contracts and close agreements to increase revenue streams and maximise profits.
• Develops and maintains long-term relationships, with current customers and accounts.
• Communicate internally client needs and demands.
• Forecasts and tracks client account metrics.
• Manage projects within client relationships, working to carry out client goals while meeting company goals.
• Identifies opportunities to grow business with existing clients and prospect and develop new business opportunities.
• Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
• Coordinate with internal staff members working on the same account to ensure consistent service.
• Keep records of client transactions on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
• Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly sales initiatives to internal and external stakeholders through written reports and presentations.
• Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts).
• Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

- Life Science degree, 2.2 and above.
- Preferably at least 2 years experience in a life science laboratory sales based role.
- Knowledge of the Laboratory industry preferred, experience of consumable sales also an advantage.
- Self-motivated and resilient, enthusiastic, articulate with the ability to listen to others, and well presented.
