Role Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing, global medical imaging company who are looking for a Remote Connection Engineer to join the team.
This is a field/home based role with national travel. We are looking for candidates ideally situated centrally in England close to good road networks
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• The successful candidate will act as a central point of contact to actively drive forward the companies modalities remote access strategy by developing and achieving new remote access connections and assessing and maintaining existing connections
• Delivery of the companies Modalities Remote Access platform to customers UK wide - on site installation and testing to achieve new connections of existing equipment and new installations
• Perform routine testing and ongoing validation of existing Remote Access connections
• Build strong relationships with customers, end users and IT departments within both NHS and private sites to deliver an effective, robust and reliable service.
• Support the development of the companies Modalities Remote Access strategy and solution.
• Perform validation of software upgrades and updates including OS patching.
• Co-ordination of remote upgrades via WSUS.
• Advise and inform the wider Modalities team from a technical perspective.
• Ensuring that all Remote Connection details are logged correctly to ensure easy connection once established and maintaining internal quality management documentation relating to the Remote Access solution and implementation.
• Ensure that all technical works are undertaken in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
• Provide support and assistance to the wider modalities team where required.
Person Specification
• Experience working in NHS IT department or working with NHS IT departments.
• Knowledge of NHS IT Networking/Systems
• Experience of complex networking fault analysis, diagnosis and resolution.
• Industry standard IT qualifications such as MCP/MCSE, CompTIA, CCNA or equivalent
• Ability to build rapport/working relationships with IT departments to drive implementation of remote connectivity
• Self-motivated, target driven and able to work on own initiative to prioritise tasks and able to work both as a team and individually to achieve an overall objective
• Adaptable, flexible and motivated to learn new tasks and processes quickly.
• Logical and thorough thought processes with the ability to think creatively to innovate and resolve problems. An eye for detail is essential.
• Full UK driving licence and happy to undertake national travel.
• BTEC level 4 qualification in computing or equivalent.
• Experience of complex networking fault analysis, diagnosis and resolution.
• Knowledge of WAN/LAN, Network and Server technologies
• Self-motivated, target driven and able to work on own initiative to prioritise tasks and able to work both as a team and individually to achieve an overall objective
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and must demonstrate effective working relationships with other service / support groups.
• Adaptable, flexible and motivated to learn new tasks and processes quickly.
• Logical and thorough thought processes with the ability to think creatively to innovate and resolve problems. An eye for detail is essential.
