R&D Project Manager
I am working with a growing company who specialise in the development and distribution of a technical range of nutritional and pharmaceuticals for the Ruminants market.
As part of their expansion strategy they are recruiting for an R&D manager to work from the office in Lincolnshire.
Responsibilities:
- New product R&D including projects with international companies and research organisations; commissioning and managing clinical trials; statistical analyses, reviews of data, literature and documentation.
- Managing a small multi-disciplinary team of chemists, engineers and regulatory specialists to deliver project outputs.
- Submission of new marketing authorisations in domestic and export markets and communication with the regulatory authorities (in the EU, New Zealand, Canada and USA).
- Preparing technical reports and the provision of technical support on the Company's products both to internal employees and to external customers.
- Planning and supervision of near to market trials that will support the marketing campaigns for new and existing products in the UK and overseas.
Requirements:
- A qualified Veterinarian or Animal Scientist with a post graduate qualification.
- At least 5 years' experience in farm animal research combined and an in-depth knowledge and interest of metabolic disorders in cattle and sheep.
- Experience of R&D activities in industry and/or a good working knowledge of the product development cycle. The candidate must be innovative and demonstrate the ability to deliver practical solutions to complex and varied problems and enjoy the challenge of commercialising new ideas and products.
- A good communicator (both written and spoken) with the ability to develop healthy, professional relationships with a range of staff at all levels.
- A good grounding in business principles together with excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and deliver to deadlines.
- Experience of dairy cow and sheep production, particularly in forage-based production systems.
