Role Overview

Our client are looking for an enthusiastic and tenacious Purchasing & Supplier Manager to work closely with their service delivery teams including those on-site to ensure that customers are receiving the best possible service from suppliers including the best pricing. This role will prove pivotal to the building and maintenance of customer and supplier relationships as well as driving exceptional customer service. Key Duties and Responsibilities

To build, manage and maintain supplier relationships across the current and future supply chain.

Proactively manage both internal and external stakeholders in relation to meetings and communication to ensure a high level of commitment is secured during the sourcing process and implementation, promoting the effective management of suppliers to sustain value throughout the life of the contract.

Collaboratively work alongside the Catalogue and Savings Managers and the associated on- site teams to ensure that suppliers are delivering on their agreed KPIs.

Support delivery of savings and best value across all categories of the managed services portfolio including but not limited to Pathology, Endoscopy, Surgery.

Manage all key procurement projects/mini competitions with the support of Regional Service Delivery Managers, Account Managers, Bids & Tenders Writer and various other teams across the business.

Work alongside the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Regional Service Delivery Mangers to develop supplier strategies that deliver key business objectives and enhance the value of contracts.

Undertake supplier market research to ensure that the required suppliers, products, and services are continually in scope and providing the best value at all times.

Proactively manage the post-contractual environment alongside the Account Management and On-Site Teams to ensure that all terms and conditions are being applied and related benefits secured.

Person Specification

Proficient in the use of MS Office 365 particularly with MS Excel.
Strong Negotiation skills.
Experience in Healthcare procurement, frameworks and healthcare supply chain is required to be successful in this role.
CIPS qualifications would be an advantage.
Knowledge of ERP, CRM and SAP systems would be an advantage.
Demonstrable experience of supplier management.
Excellent stakeholder management skills both internal and external.
Ability to prioritise your own workload within a complex environment with changing priorities and deadlines with the skill to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
Ability to negotiate, analyse, evaluate, and recommend supplier quotations.
Ability to apply lateral thinking for problem solving.
Proactive and positive approach with a can-do attitude.
Exceptional communication skills across all modalities.
Highly organised with a keen eye for the finer details.
Flexible and receptive to change.
