JOB TITLE: Product Specialist

REPORTING TO: Product Manager - Microbiology and Infectious Disease


- To expand relationships with existing customers as required by directing and supporting collaborative sales efforts to grow one or more assigned product lines.
- To present and train new and existing customers on designated product ranges and to initiate new product evaluations.
- To support Product Manager in marketing activities as required.
- To be responsible for product ranges as required.



- Give product presentations for customers
- Support the Sales team in developing our product portfolio with existing and new customers.
- Provide technical and sales support to the sales team for reagents and associated instrumentation.
- Support with external evaluations, marketing acceptance trials, and documentation.
- Liaise with the Product Manager for customer evaluations of new reagent/ instrumentation projects.
- Assist in new product introduction to the market.
- Support and liaise with customers to produce publications in scientific journals or poster presentations at scientific conferences.
- Review current trends in the market place.
- Comply with company Quality procedures.
- Provide training for engineers and sales representatives as and when required.
- Attend exhibitions and meetings representing the company.


- Manage a designated product range
- Carry out Market Research and Marketing Plans for required product range to assess potential in the market.
- With the support of the Product Manager, assess and put in place marketing strategies for the promotion of the products.
- With the support of the Product Manager create and provide marketing material to the sales team, for conferences, publication, advertisements etc.
- Responsible for preparing product forecasts and supporting the Sales office to maintain required level of stock.
- Suggest new ISO Marketing objectives to help improve Marketing process
- Responsible for providing the Sales Team with the necessary technical and scientific background to enable them to sell the product.
- Build and maintain relationship with KOLs
- Attend symposia
- To carry out any other duties that may be required from time to time at the discretion of the Product Manager


- Maintaining the Lunch Diagnostics website and associated Social media
- Working with Reagent Support team to handle customer complaints
- Maintaining scientific information database
- Updating Airwatch Sales Information Tool and Sales information Server
- Responding to queries from customers and sales team
- Analysis of data from external and in-house evaluations
- Updating supplier information
- Assist in the implementation of eProcurement/GS-1 legislation
