Product Applications Team Manager

Provide expert scientific & technical applications support for Medical products with primary focus on the water portfolio.

Lead the team of applications scientists in the core project office that provide support for internal customers

Provide scientific and technical applications support for internal (c. 50%) and external customers (c. 20%)

- Take responsibility for, and manage routine and complex technical projects without supervision
- Prepare test plans and protocols in conjunction with key stakeholders based on information supplied and confirm acceptance
- in/outsource/conduct test work in accordance with relevant procedures
- Interpret test data, prepare specific reports and confirm customer acceptance
- Write technical position pieces

Maintain close customer contact before, during and after project completion

- Communicate regular updates of project status
- Communicate issues/problems as soon as they arise
- Answer technical questions
- Travel to external sites for technical meetings or for external testing
- Give presentations and training

Establish priorities and decide appropriate action required to meet required target
Schedule work into laboratories in conjunction with appropriate business functions
Report project progress and status using appropriate tools to stakeholders
Communicate business activities/requirements to senior management and cross functional teams
Management (c.30%)

Provide general operational management
Recruit, onboard and develop new staff
Work with associates to create P4G and D4G aligned with business and associate goals. Perform appraisals
Drive team engagement
Communicate business activities/requirements to team.
Champion DBS and actively promote all improvement activities

Supporting activity

Maintain up to date knowledge of current local, regional and global regulatory trends, issues and guidelines relating to products being supported and disseminate information to team.
Develop expertise by regular communication with oexternal groups. Disseminate information to the team
Contribute to NPD ideation
Attend training courses as required
Take on 'special' projects as requested
Assist with training and development of new and existing associates
Suggest new ideas and actions to improve efficiency and workflow and highlight areas for improvement
Contribute to setting of yearly SLS objectives
Other support duties as required
