My client is an oligonucleotide synthesis provider specialising in the synthesis of high-quality modified oligonucleotides, with labs in Southampton and Oxford. They supply oligonucleotides for various uses including COVID-19 testing and their DNA is used all over the world in academic and commercial research in the fields of genetics, genomics, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology and nanotechnology.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
- carry out cutting-edge oligonucleotide synthesis and analysis
- involved in and trained on all stages of synthesis process and QC
- involved in R&D
- dealing with customers

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:
ullet at least an undergraduate degree in chemistry and a PhD in a relevant area (or a
related discipline), and some experience working in a chemistry laboratory or industry.
ullet experience in nucleic acid chemistry is desirable but not essential
ullet experience with HPLC and mass spectrometry; experience working with Waters LCMS
systems is highly desirable
ullet proven ability to work well both individually and as part of a small team
ullet excellent spoken and written English
ullet the ability to keep accurate laboratory records and work in a neat and clean
ullet experience with ISO 9001 is desirable but not essential
