Lesson plans on healthy teeth launched by Public Health England

With 25% of 5 year olds in England have decayed, missing or filled teeth, Public Health England have taken action and launched ‘keeping our teeth healthy’ lesson plans for children aged five to eleven.

As part of their Change4life campaign, the lessons will use simple scientific experiments to educate children on how sugary drinks affect teeth and encourage them to make healthier choices.

“Lesson plans on healthy teeth launched by Public Health England.“

“Obesity is a real threat to children’s health as they are consuming too much sugar@” said chief nutritionist at Public Health England. “Educating children at an early age on the importance of a balanced diet and how much sugar is in different foods can help to avoid serious illnesses in the future.”

As well as scientific experiments, the lessons will use sugar cubes to help count and combat obesity, and the children will create a dental health plan and be given advice on how to keep their teeth healthy.
