Siemens Healthineers launches new Cios Select mobile surgical C-arm
Scientific Company NewsSiemens Healthineers has announced the launch of a new and updated version of its Cios Select mobile surgical C-arm.
The device incorporates state-of-the-art flat-panel detector technology, providing better image quality at a higher resolution and very low radiation exposure in routine surgery. This detector expands the field of view by about 20 percent compared with image intensifiers in the same class.
“Siemens Healthineers has launched its new Cios Select mobile C-arm, offering greater precision in routine surgery.“
In addition, Cios Select helps to improve workflows with an easy-to-operate touchscreen interface and an optional wireless footswitch for X-ray imaging. This allows users to reduce the number of cables on the floor, making moving of other equipment easier.
Other features include a robust hardware and software design, 99.8 percent system availability and low maintenance requirements, making it suitable for intraoperative imaging in orthopaedics, trauma surgery, urology, pain management, and peripheral vascular surgery.

Peter Seitz, general manager of surgery at Siemens Healthineers, said: "Cios Select with flat-panel detector technology combines premium imaging quality with economical design. The result is a system that offers excellent images, is easy to operate, and is highly reliable."
