HCA report shows rise of flexible working in healthcare comms

Marketing Services

The Healthcare Communications Association (HCA) has published a new report that highlights the growing prevalence of flexible working within the healthcare comms sector.

Its latest HCA Benchmarking report found that 96 percent of the 23 organisations taking part in the survey offer employees the option of working from home, while 91 percent provide flexible working hours.

“The vast majority of healthcare comms agencies are now prioritising flexible working options, according to a new industry survey.“

This comes at a time when talent recruitment and retention are considered major challenges to the sector, with industry leaders looking to address this by expanding the range of perks and benefits available to staff.

For example, 91 percent are providing private medical insurance, 78 percent provide season ticket loans, 74 percent offer childcare vouchers, 61 percent offer sabbaticals and 57 percent provide gym memberships or subsidies.

Mike Dixon, chief executive officer of the HCA, said: "This is all so important at a time when we need to be attracting new talent into healthcare communications and ensuring we are retaining the talent we already have."
