Celgene has announced the launch of Celgene Cancer Care Links, a new grant programme designed to support the building of cancer healthcare capacity in resource-constrained countries.
The scheme will see Celgene collaborate with medical centres to enhance patient care and build sustainable cancer care systems in a number of poorer nations, with applications to be accepted from around the world.

Specifically, the programme will support the provision of essential cancer care services including oncology training, cancer prevention and detection, nursing programmes, general medical support, pharmacy programmes, and awareness and education initiatives.
Funding will be provided to approved schemes in 2018, with the overall initiative aligning with Celgene's corporate mission to improve the lives of patients worldwide.
Dr Joe Camardo, senior vice-president for global health and corporate affairs at Celgene's medical strategy division, said: "Celgene Cancer Care Links aims to build capacity within cancer centres to better manage prevention, early diagnosis and treatment to improve patient lives."
