Carestream Dental has announced that its CS 3600 intraoral scanner can now be used in conjunction with Orchestrate Orthodontic Technologies' various systems.
Thanks to this new collaboration, scans from the CS 3600 scanner are now accepted for use with Orchestrate's 3D treatment planning software and 3D printing solutions, offering a simpler workflow for users of both systems.
“Carestream Dental's CS 3600 intraoral scanner now offers compatibility with systems from Orchestrate Orthodontic Technologies.“
It means dentists can simply take a digital impression with the CS 3600 and send the open .STL files to Orchestrate for treatment planning and 3D printing, whether this takes place in-office, or if the Orchestrate models are produced for aligners or other appliances.
This adds to the established benefits of the CS 3600 scanner, which offers high-speed continuous scanning facilities for capturing dual arches and an intelligent matching system that makes it possible to fill in any missing information in the data set.
Matthew Hendrickson, orthodontic director for Carestream Dental, said: "In the rapidly changing orthodontic business environment, it is important that offices have options for manufacturing in-house aligner appliances."
