Sanofi's research and development head wins executive of the year prize
Pharmaceutical Company Product NewsSanofi has welcomed the news that its research and development president Elias Zerhouni has been named executive of the year at the 2017 Scrip Awards.
During the event in London, Dr Zerhouni was recognised by a panel of senior healthcare experts for displaying strong leadership in his field, as well as for helping turn Sanofi's research and development operation into one of the best-performing in the industry.

He has been with the company since 2011, and has been credited with developing a strategy that has greatly improved the efficiency of Sanofi's development function, and raised the level of its scientific research expertise.
Since his appointment, the company has secured 13 new drug approvals, including new offerings in key therapeutic areas such as diabetes, cardiovascular, rare diseases, multiple sclerosis, oncology, immunology and infectious diseases with vaccines.

Mr Zerhouni said: "I am proud of the work we continue to do on behalf of patients to identify and bring to market new therapies of high clinical value."
