Carestream Dental has announced that its CS 3600 intraoral scanner has been certified by OraMetrix for use with its Suresmile technology.
This partnership means that scans captured using the CS 3600 can be integrated with Suresmile software, providing new digital workflow options to orthodontists for case planning, while allowing them to combine 3D diagnostic imaging with digital treatment planning and robotic archwire customisation.
“Carestream Dental's CS 3600 intraoral scanner has been certified for use with OraMetrix's Suresmile technology.“
Users will be able to plan tooth movement on digital models and tailor prescriptive archwires to individual needs, offering more precise and efficient treatment. This is in addition to the proven benefits of the CS 3600, which allow users to acquire scans in a smooth, uninterrupted manner.
Matthew Hendrickson, orthodontic director of Carestream Dental, said: "The speed and the ease of use of the CS 3600 make it ideal for use in orthodontic practice, and we are proud to be a certified OraMetrix partner."
Carestream Dental previously saw its CS 9300C Select and CS 9300C systems receive Suresmile certification from OraMetrix in April 2013 and October 2011, respectively, making it the only company to have both a cone beam computed tomography unit and intraoral scanner certified in this way.
