Carestream Dental has announced that its CS 3600 intraoral scanner is to offer compatibility with the digital orthodontic service Nutislab thanks to a partnership between the companies.
The agreement means that Nutislab users will be able to access scans captured by the CS 3600 system, making it easier for them to prepare, design and fabricate orthodontic prostheses.
“Carestream Dental has made its CS 3600 intraoral scanner compatible for use with the digital orthodontic service Nutislab.“
CS 3600 is designed to provide high-speed continuous scanning to make capturing dual-arch scans for orthodontic appliances quicker and easier, with its Intelligent Matching System allowing users to jump to any place in the mouth to fill in missing data.
Nutislab's digital platform lets clinicians can design their treatment plan online, with the digitisation of the process making the final prosthesis more accurate and easy to produce.
Nicola Gizzi, general manager of Carestream Dental's Europe, Africa and Middle East region, said: "The open architecture of the CS 3600 gives clinicians more choices when it comes to partnering with third parties like Nutislab. Orthodontists can customise their workflows in a manner that best serves the needs of their patients."
The acquisition of Carestream Dental by the investment firms Clayton, Dubilier and Rice and CareCapital Advisors was completed earlier this month, meaning the former Carestream Health subsidiary is now operating as an independent business.
