Fishawack has announced the acquisition of the Carling group of companies, a network of comms agencies based in San Diego.
The purchase includes Carling Communications - the first agency in the Fishawack group to be focused entirely on healthcare marketing - as well as MCME Global, which specialises in medical education.
“Fishawack has agreed a deal to acquire the Carling group of companies, including Carling Communications and MCME Global.“
Acquiring Carling Communications was a key strategic priority in this deal. The agency, which was founded in 2010 by Didi Discar, employs a team of nearly 100 staff members and offers an expertise in 35 therapeutic area.
Fishawack has frequently partnered with Carling for its promotional capabilities, meaning it will represent a natural fit in serving as the group's new creative agency.
Oliver Dennis, chief executive officer of Fishawack, said: "Our clients comprise a mix of medical affairs and commercial teams, and we have always offered a complete range of services to the former; with the addition of a creative agency, we can now do the same for the latter."
This marks the first acquisition Fishawack has made since mid-market private equity investor LDC provided backing for a buyout of the business in January this year.
