Henry Schein marks 20th anniversary of Dentrix Dental Systems merger

Dental Supplier News

Henry Schein has highlighted the considerable gains it has achieved through its merger with Dentrix Dental Systems two decades ago.

The company has marked the 20th anniversary of the 1997 deal, which saw it acquire the Utah-based Dentrix at a time when it had an installed base of 3,500 dental practice management systems.

“Henry Schein has marked the 20th anniversary of its merger with Dentrix Dental Systems by noting the significant benefits the deal has delivered.“

Since then, Dentrix has become part of the Henry Schein Practice Solutions business and has installed more than 35,000 Dentrix systems in the US and Canada alone, solidifying its position as the leading practice management software company in the dental market.

This growth has been accelerated by the launch of new product offerings such as the cloud-based Dentrix Ascend, Easy Dental and Dentrix Enterprise systems, as well as its integrated electronic services for revenue cycle management, patient relationship management, and patient demand generation.

Stanley Bergman, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Henry Schein, said: "Dentrix has catapulted Henry Schein Practice Solutions to become the largest dental practice solutions provider in the world, exponentially growing our value-added services group, and accelerating the adoption of digital dentistry among oral health professionals."
