Boots UK has announced the appointment of Richard Reed to the newly-created role of trading director for the UK and Ireland.
Mr Reed joins the company from fellow consumer health company Reckitt Benckiser, where he has spent the last four years serving as vice-president for international customer development.

He will take up his role at Boots in June, where he will complete a new-look executive leadership team. Previously, a commercial director oversaw trading and marketing responsibilities, but the function has now been split into two separate roles.
Helen Normoyle, a former BBC director who joined Boots last month from estate agency Countrywide, has taken on the marketing director role.
