Boots supports launch of healthy living scheme for Nottingham youngsters

Consumer Healthcare News

Boots is helping to launch a sports and healthy living programme for children and families in Nottingham in association with local partners.

The company is joining forces with Nottingham Forest in the Community to launch the Feel Good Club Nottingham, a programme that runs for four days every week throughout August, revolving around activities designed to be high-energy, fun and inclusive.

“Boots is working alongside partners in Nottingham to launch a healthy living scheme for children and their families.“

Each day, around 50 people will spend time with professional sports coaches and Boots community pharmacists, optometrists, No7 beauty advisors and volunteers, taking part in 30-minute activities built around hand-eye co-ordination, striking skills and cardio-based games.

The programme was piloted earlier this year with around 20 young people who live in Nottingham city centre, which showed the scheme's potential to help young people who do not have access to sports facilities or information on healthy lifestyle choices.

Alison Hands, healthcare proposition director and chair of trustees at the Boots Charitable Trust, said: "Through our new Healthcare Innovation Award and the Feel Good Club Nottingham, we hope to make a real difference to the health of local children and their families."
