Portland Health has announced the appointment of Dr Brendan Murphy as its new director of medical education, joining its health management team.

Dr Murphy joins Portland after spending four years at the Nucleus Global group. He previously served as director of client services at both Health Interactions and Articulate Science.

“Portland Health has appointed Dr Brendan Murphy as its new director of medical education.“

He has a PhD in immunology from the University of London and can boast more than 12 years of experience in medical education, both in-house and across a number of different agencies.

With former employers including Inspired Science, Ketchum, MediTech Media and Janssen Cilag, Dr Murphy's expertise will help Portland expand its capabilities in this area. This comes after the agency added a number of medical education projects and clients to its portfolio last year.

Dr Jane Brearley, partner and head of health at Portland Health, said: "Brendan's skills and our future hiring plan will ensure that we are able to build on our track record of creating compelling creative campaigns grounded in high science."
