Waters and BioCity to set up open-access lab in Alderley Park

12th January 2016

Waters is collaborating with BioCity to set up a new open-access analytical laboratory at the BioHub in Alderley Park.

The new lab will be equipped with Waters' state-of-the-art liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and informatics technologies, along with a suite of analytical platforms to scientists working in the pharmaceutical and life science industries.

Among these will be the Acquity QDa, Acquity H-Class, Acquity UPC2 and Acquity PDA Detector systems, as well as a nuclear magnetic resonance system provided by Manchester Science Partnerships, the owner of Alderley Park.

The new lab is scheduled to open in early 2016 and will add to the scientific expertise already in residence at the BioHub.

Richard Ladd, senior director for Waters' pharmaceutical business, said: "The diversity and strength of science which is being done at Alderley Park matches well with Waters' strategy of purposeful innovation, and our strong emphasis on health and life sciences."

BioCity is the UK's largest bioscience incubator company, supporting more than 150 start-up organisations.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801809839-ADNFCR
