Cook Medical has announced the launch of its new EchoTip ProCore 20 gage needle with ReCoil Stylet.
This latest addition to the EchoTip ProCore product line features a flexible design that allows physicians to obtain histological samples from difficult anatomical locations.
“Cook Medical has launched its new EchoTip ProCore 20 gauge needle, for obtaining histological samples from difficult anatomical locations.“
It can be used with an ultrasound endoscope for fine needle biopsy of submucosal lesions, mediastinal masses, lymph nodes and intraperitoneal masses within or adjacent to the gastrointestinal tract.
The ReCoil Stylet's automatic recoiling capability is designed to help users to more easily manage the stylet, minimising the risk of contamination, while the high-definition dimpling pattern on the needle helps physicians visualise the needle under ultrasound.
Barry Slowey, global business unit leader for Cook Medical's endoscopy division, said: "The EchoTip ProCore 20 gauge needle, developed with physician feedback, gives clinicians the flexibility to target small lesions while potentially increasing valuable histological yields."
This comes after the firm launched its new Advance Salivary Duct Balloon Catheter Set in September.See all the latest jobs in Medical Devices
