Ipsen names new human resources head

Pharmaceutical Company Restructures

Ipsen has announced the appointment of Stephane Bessette as the new executive vice-president of its human resources department.

Mr Bessette has more than 11 years of experience in the medical device sector, having most recently worked for Sorin Group, a leader in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

“Ipsen has appointed Stephane Bessette as its new executive vice-president for human resources.“

Since 2007, he led its global human resources function and is credited a with a large contribution to Sorin's expansion worldwide. Prior to this, he held leadership positions in human resources at Alcatel Telecom, Alstom and Guerlain.

His appointment will contribute to the development and enhancement of skills and talent throughout Ipsen, in line with its growth strategy.

Christel Bories, deputy chief executive officer of Ipsen, said: "Stephane will bring his strong international human resources expertise to us, acquired across multiple industries, most notably in the health industry."

The firm saw a group sales increase of 7.9 percent in the first half of 2015, driven by double-digit growth in its specialty care business, notably thanks to the performance of the drug Somatuline.
