Lonza has entered into a global distribution agreement with CytoMate Technologies for its live cell imaging technology CytoSMART.
The newly-developed product has been designed for easy and affordable imaging, allowing researchers to take time-lapse videos and images of their cell culture that can then be transfered to the CytoSMART Cloud.
“Lonza and CytoMate Technologies have entered into a global distribution agreement for CytoMate's newly-developed CytoSMART technology.“
A wide variety of potential applications are possible with this technology, including documenting the generation of induced pluripotent stem cells and migration assays such as scratch assays. The system also lends itself to the monitoring of cell cultures under hypoxic conditions, as well as easy and efficient cell culture standardisation. Lonza's existing sales, marketing and distribution channels will help the product to achieve rapid market penetration.
Teun van der Heide, head of Lonza's bioscience solutions business unit, said: "We are convinced that, thanks to CytoSMART, almost any lab can take advantage of the numerous possibilities that live cell culture imaging offers."
This comes after the company agreed new commercial collaborations with arGEN-X and TiGenix last month.See all the latest jobs in Science
