Elanco has announced the availability of the third issue of Under the Skin, its popular dermatology-focused newsletter.

The latest issue of the e-newsletter focuses on pruritus, discussing the flea's role in allergic skin disease and how to manage these complex and occasionally frustrating cases. Dr Peri Lau-Gillard, european specialist in veterinary dermatology, is guest editor of the publication.

“Elanco has launched the latest issue of its Under The Skin dermatology newsletter, which has a focus on pruritus.“

Featured in the newsletter are a review of a challenging feline pruritus case, information on decision-making when dealing with feline and canine cases, and a discussion of why the underlying cause of pruritus in cats can be difficult to diagnose.

Vets will be able to consult a decision tree as a useful method for evaluating whether fleas may be a factor in causing pruritus in dogs, while they can also watch recent pruritus webinars presented by Craig Griffin and Didier Carlotti.

The newsletter also includes a feature on the importance of Elanco's Comfortis as an option for flea control. A poll at a recent European dermatology conference revealed that for almost 90 percent of leading European dermatologists regard Comfortis as their first choice for flea control.

It has won praise for its fast action, effectiveness, duration of activity and reliability.
