Grenier Bio-One has unveiled its new black 96-well cycloolefin microplate at the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening conference in Orlando.
The new high-resolution microscopy solution features a 190 micrometre ultra-clear film bottom and is manufactured entirely using cycloolefin, an innovative material with glass-like optical properties.
Thanks to the extremely short distance between the well bottom and the microplate skirt, high magnification microscopy at perimeter wells can be achieved without complex microscopic adjustments, while its circular wells prevent disruptive shadows, even when using the smallest possible meniscus lens.
"Especially developed for high-resolution microscopy, the ultra-low well base of Screenstar enables high-magnification microscopy of perimeter wells, even with a minimum working distance," said the manufacturer.
Last month, Grenier Bio-One issued a report highlighting the important role its CarnoCheck DNA testing kit is playing in food testing procedures being carried out as part of the European meat scandal, with hundreds of samples being evaluated across the continent using the product.See all the latest jobs in Science
