Depuy Mitek has announced the launch of Endurance Hip Solutions, a new system of instruments and devices intended for the growing hip arthroscopy market.
The range includes offerings such as stainless steel needles, nitinol guidewires and cannulas for access, suture anchors, and devices for tissue ablation and fluid management.
Individual brands include the Gryphon Anchor with Hip Drill Guide, FMS Duo Plus System and Vapr Vue Radiofrequency System.
This represents the first batch of hip arthroscopy products from Depuy Mitek, with more than 30,000 procedures of this type performed in 2008, a figure expected to grow annually at a rate of more than 15 percent to 2013.
Ian Lawson, worldwide president at DePuy Mitek, said: "We've leveraged our clinical expertise and track record in soft tissue repair of the shoulder and knee to create a procedural hip arthroscopy solution from joint access to tissue and suture management."
DePuy Mitek is part of Johnson and Johnson's DePuy Synthes division, which is now the largest provider of orthopaedic and neurological solutions in the world, thanks to the acquisition of Synthes last year.See all the latest jobs in Medical Devices
