Lab21 appoints new head of quality and regulatory affairs

Lab21 has named Fraser Logue as its new group director of quality, regulatory affairs and operational excellence.

Mr Logue will be based in the UK and joins the company from Abbott Laboratories, where he served in a number of key positions over a career spanning two decades.

Most recently, he acted as division vice-president for worldwide manufacturing at Abbott Diabetes Care, while his previous Abbott roles include European vice-president and operations director for diagnostics in Ireland.

Graham Mullis, chief executive officer of Lab21, said Mr Logue's appointment will be instrumental in helping the company to achieve its ambitious growth targets over the coming years.

He added: "His senior-level international management experience and operations capabilities will ensure Lab21 will meet the demands of increasing sales, entering new markets including the US and the launch of new products."

In December 2011, the company was named by a Deloitte report as one of the 500 fastest-growing technology companies in Europe.
