Coloplast's Peristeen bowel management system has been praised by former England rugby union player Matt Hampson, who said the product has changed his life.
Hampson, a prop forward, was paralysed from the neck down while training for an under-21 Six Nations match against Scotland in 2005 after a scrum collapsed on him, severing his spinal cord and dislocating his neck.
He discovered Peristeen last year and said it has had a huge impact on his life, just three months after he began using the system.
"Thanks to Peristeen I am back in control of my bowels for the first time in nearly seven years. It has taken hours off my morning routine," Hampson explained.
The former Leicester Tigers player added he now feels healthier on the inside and his skin looks "better and brighter".
Peristeen is an anal irrigation system that acts as an effective alternative to other bowel management methods and can be administered daily or every other day.See all the latest jobs in Medical Devices
