Hospira unveils new patient monitoring application
Medical Company Product NewsHospira has unveiled a web-based application that makes it easier for clinicians to monitor patient conditions and drug administration practices.
The Hospira MedNet Portal will be made available later this year as an add-on feature for its award-winning Hospira MedNet safety software, which is incorporated into several of its infusion technology offerings.
It will allow users to monitor, benchmark and evaluate intravenous drug administrations, enabling improved medication error reporting and helping hospitals to analyse their processes.
The application also provides access to blinded comparisons of data with those collated by other healthcare institutions.
Richard Nevin, vice-president of medication management systems for the company, said: "Hospira MedNet Portal will help give every facility a better view of their medication administration and safety performance ... driving safety and continuous quality improvement programmes."
Earlier this month, Hospira published its financial results for 2010, reporting satisfaction with its sales growth and progress in improving its corporate efficiency over the last year.
