Siemens launches improved blood gas analysers
Scientific Company NewsSiemens has introduced enhanced versions of two of its blood gas analyser systems, which enable remote viewing and management capabilities.
The RAPIDPoint 400/405 version 3.6 and RAPIDLab 1200 version 3.1 analysers are designed to connect with Siemens' RAPIDComm version 3.0 data management and connectivity solution, allowing the actual instrument display to be viewed from a remote location.
Using this functionality, laboratory technicians can perform calibrations, data access and real-time troubleshooting, with device icons and graphic displays providing overviews of the system's status.
According to Siemens, this will make it easier for supervisors to carry out essential checks, maximising system uptime.
Hanjoon Ryu, senior vice-president for point of care at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, added: "This latest enhancement will allow our customers to more efficiently manage their blood gas analysers while simplifying regulatory compliance."
Last month, the company showcased a range of laboratory management systems at the American Association for Clinical Chemistry's 2010 clinical lab expo, including the syngo Lab Process Manager.
