Sylvain Touron was keen on remaining within the healthcare sector after 13 years in pharmaceuticals, however he was keen to apply his technical engineering abilities in a different environment.

This was the point at which he opted to work in the MedTech industry, and in September of last year, he was appointed President of Getinge France.

Touron explained that “Getinge’s portfolio” comes with “lots of opportunities to learn. Getinge is serious about lowering its environmental impact and contributing to a more sustainable world. It was a good cultural fit for me.”

Several issues currently confront the healthcare sector, a primary concern being the ageing population and an increase in diseases which must be addressed. The demand for additional comprehensive treatment options is rising quickly.

“Another big issue right now is the lack of healthcare staff. Here, our digital solutions can be of help to create safer and more efficient hospital workflows.”

Now, Touron and his co-workers are communicating with various stakeholders, concentrating primarily on adding value and streamlining operations for customers wherever they can.
