The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) found in its preliminary research that a forthcoming merger between Dental suppliers Dentex Healthcare Group Limited and Portman Healthcare Limited would not adversely affect most people. Although there will still be enough competition in the majority of situations following the merger, the CMA determined that the agreement will cause competition issues in some areas for the delivery of NHS orthodontic care and private treatments.
