Scottish Digital Pharmacy Phlo Receives £10m in Funding

Phlo, a new Scottish digital pharmacy, has acquired £10 million in a Series A investment round to back its plans for UK-wide development.

Phlo was established 4 years ago in Glasgow, offering pharmaceutical deliveries that arrive with the recipient within 24 hours of being requested. These deliveries can be monitored via a mobile application, with the firm providing notifications when drug stock levels are low, and when any prescriptions are due to come in from private or NHS suppliers.

They also provide Application Programming Interface software (Phlo Connect) that synchs with healthcare providers to deliver real-time updates and electronic prescriptions. This takes advantage of the growing requirement for pharmacies to transition to online platforms as industry stats indicate that physical stores are no longer prospering.

Founder of Phlo, Nadeem Sarwar, explained how “the investment raised will help support our expansion across the UK and allow us to improve healthcare outcomes.”

“This round of investment is particularly crucial in helping us scale our offering and establishing Phlo as the market leader in the delivery of next-generation digital pharmacy services.”

Mark Bamforth, founder of investment firm Thairm Bio, described “Phlo’s dedication to building innovative digital solutions” as “key to driving positive change in the sector, empowering patients and healthcare providers.”
