CompuGroup Expands US Market Reach Via Medicus LIS acquisition

Over 1,000 laboratories in the US have deployed the laboratory management software that Medicus Laboratory Information Systems has been developing for the domestic non-acute market over the past 15 years.

The deal highlights CGM's place as the US industry dominator of software for reference laboratories.

Medicus LIS will bring their extensive industry knowledge and strong distributor connections to the table. President and co-founder Karen Bornstein has pledged to remain with the company after the acquisition.

A couple of GHG's solutions were had been incorporated by CGM two years ago into its Consumer & Health Management Information Systems as a result of a previous strategic collaboration. The goods and technologies will provide the company a significant competitive edge throughout the development process and reduce the time it takes to get new products on the market.

A novel communication method for circulating medical information to physicians and patients will also be included to the intermedix business sector.

By actively collaborating with CGM's ambulatory and hospital sectors and taking on the role of Chief Medical Officer, founder of the company, Prof. Dr. Daniel Gotthardt, will remain in a position to drive strategy and growth of "Praxisdienst" and "medical brain."

The start of January next year is the anticipated closing date for the deal.
