Bioscript Group Launches Inaugural Pioneer Scientific Associate Programme

Healthcare Communications

The programme offers an intensive two-week induction programme, after which trainees embark on, four, four-month rotations across different areas of the Bioscript business coupled with structured skills training and continual support from dedicated in-agency mentors. As the Bioscript Group business diversifies, Pioneer will bring on a new generation of scientific writers and consultants who are ideally placed to offer high-value, big-picture thinking across all areas of the healthcare communications industry.

Following a rigorous selection procedure, seven Pioneers joined the Group at the end of September. The breadth of services offered by Bioscript Group spans all areas of medical communications, regulatory writing and market access consulting, and the Pioneers will have the opportunity to work across all of these areas during their sixteen months on the programme, providing an unmatched breadth of experience.

“Bioscript Group are delighted to welcome their first cohort of Scientific Associates to join the Pioneer programme – a unique entry point into the world of Healthcare Communications.“

Samantha Cockburn, one of the recent Pioneer intake, was drawn to the programme’s variety and breadth; ‘The Pioneer programme offers something no other recruiting companies were offering – the opportunity to work within each section of the business to really get a feel for where our strengths and interests lie. As someone with bags of enthusiasm but no prior industry experience, being able to rotate through the business areas and learn from incredibly supportive and knowledgeable individuals is the perfect foundation for me to build from,’ she commented.

Her colleague Jess Buxton added “I applied to the Pioneer programme as I was looking to move from academia into healthcare communications in a stimulating and supportive environment. The structured and varied nature of the training struck me as the ideal way to gain a deep understanding of the roles that medical writing, regulatory writing and market access all play in the product lifecycle”.

Bioscript’s recently appointed CEO, Gabrielle Silver said “Pioneer offers us something genuinely industry leading and a fantastic opportunity for those wanting to make their first career steps in healthcare communications. The programme underpins an incredibly exciting time of growth and expansion of our specialist services at Bioscript Group. I look forward to the progress of our Pioneers and to welcoming the next group into the teams in the new year.”

Bioscript Group recruits twice annually for exceptional individuals with a love of learning and a flair for communication to join the Pioneer programme, with recruitment for the March cohort opening in early December.
