Healthcare Communications

akt health communications – a specialist consultancy in healthcare and medical communications – today announced two key additions to its leadership team. Louise Otterburn-Sawyer joins as Managing Director. Over the past decade, Louise has launched some of the highest profile brands in non-OTC healthcare and brings with her a wealth of agency and in-house experience. She joins from Janssen UK, where she was Senior Manager leading on therapy area and product communications.

Heather Tarplee has also been promoted to Associate Director and will now take on a role within the agency’s enhanced senior leadership team. Heather, who was formerly at Freuds until joining akt in 2021, will oversee the growth of the agency’s patient engagement offering – helping clients to demonstrate the full potential of patient and caregiver insight for their brands and organisations.

“akt health communications strengthens leadership team. “

Commenting on her appointment, Louise Otterburn-Sawyer said: “akt health has gone from strength to strength over the past year and I am thrilled to be joining at such an exciting time for this agency. In just four years this team has demonstrated an outstanding ability to deliver unique and dynamic healthcare content – putting its client’s brands and ideas the forefront of conversation. But this is absolutely just the beginning, and I am delighted to be able to help shape the next step of its journey.”

Commenting on her promotion, Heather Tarplee said: “A key motivation for joining akt last year was the opportunity to help grow a team that sought to do things differently, and that truly cares about the life-changing work it delivers. I am delighted to be part of shaping that Vision and helping to lead an exceptional team.” Founded in May 2018 by Anna Radnavale, Katy Foy and Tim Cockroft, akt health communications offers a bespoke service to healthcare clients – delivering excellence across PR & advocacy, medical education and patient engagement. Based in central London, the award-winning agency now comprises a growing team of 15 specialist healthcare communicators.

Commenting on the additions, Tim Cockroft, Founding Director at akt health said: “We are delighted to welcome Louise and Heather to our senior team. Our agency thrives on new ideas, passion and creativity and we are proud to have the opportunity to work with two exceptional individuals who have this in abundance.”
