Healthcare Communications

In its fifth acquisition in five years, integrated comms firm PLMR has bought specialist health and social care agency, Healthcomms Consulting.

With Healthcomms Consulting’s clients including the Association of British Healthtech Industries, Brain Tumour Research, Royal College of Podiatry and ThermoFisher Scientific, PLMR has stated that the acquisition will bring broader comms expertise and other public affairs to the group.

“In its fifth acquisition in five years, integrated comms firm PLMR has bought specialist health and social care agency, Healthcomms Consulting.“

The acquisition brings PLMR’s total workforce to more than 100 people, with offices in Liverpool, the east of England, and the midlands, in addition to its head office in London.

PLMR has stated that the recent acquisition is part of its mission to broaden its expertise in the health and social care sectors and develop its digital marketing and social media capabilities and its regional footprint.

The acquisition has come less than a year after PLMR bought two agencies with a regional focus: Advent Communications and Genesis. It previously acquired Snapdragon Consulting, a build environment comms firm and Mango Marketing, an education comms specialist.

Founder and chief executive of PLMR, Kevin Craig, stated: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Healthcomms Consulting into the PLMR family and look forward to benefitting from its team’s considerable expertise. This acquisition signals our commitment to sustainable and targeted growth, as well as our keen focus on sectors which are increasingly in need of bespoke high-quality communications support. Joining together with Healthcomms builds on the acquisitions we have made in the past few years and our strong organic growth over the period, allowing us to continue to meet our objectives for clients while also providing great careers, training and rewards for our team, and maintain our distinctive and sector-leading approach to charity and philanthropy.”
