Jurox launches Alfaxan® Multidose

Jurox (UK) Ltd has enhanced its anaesthesia and analgesia portfolio with the introduction of Alfaxan® Multidose for dogs, cats and pet rabbits.

Alfaxan Multidose is a new, preserved formulation of alfaxalone, combining the reliability of Alfaxan with the versatility that comes with an extended shelf life of 28 days after the vial is first broached. Alfaxan Multidose is the bioequivalent to unpreserved Alfaxan, however the preserved system reduces risk of microbial contamination, providing repeatable and reliable anaesthesia in a pain free injection.

Offering smooth induction and transition to maintenance, fast and clearheaded recovery and minimal cardiovascular and respiratory effects, just like Alfaxan, Alfaxan Multidose can be used with confidence in all dog, cat and pet rabbit patients (ASAs I to V including C-sections). It is available in two presentations of 10ml and 20ml, with the 20ml presentation competitively priced at an equivalent price per ml as the current 10ml Alfaxan unpreserved presentation.

Alfaxan Multidose was previewed on the Jurox stand at BSAVA Congress, where it created unprecedated interest with pre-orders taken for the 20ml presentation from nearly 60 different accounts.
