Seventeen million doses of the Moderna vaccine have been ordered by the UK, the third vaccine approved by the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
A 24-year-old unpaid carer, Elle Taylor, from Ammanford, was the first to receive the Moderna vaccine today at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen, Wales.
“The UK orders 17m doses of the Moderna vaccine.“
According to Paul Scully, the Moderna vaccine is predicted to be rolled out in England within the next week, and the vaccination programme remains on track to cover all adults in England by the end of July.
Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, stated: "The UK government has secured vaccines on behalf of the entire nation and the vaccination programme has shown our country working together at its best.”
