Bausch & Lomb highlights daily disposable lenses

Medical Company Product News

Bausch & Lomb, the global eye healthcare company, has highlighted its daily disposable contact lenses at a US event.

Soflens is the only daily disposable to use ComfortMoist technology and HighDefinition optics, providing "crisp, sharp" vision for the wearer, the firm said at the American Academy of Optometry's annual meeting.

HighDefinition optics work to reduce spherical aberration and provide the wearer with clear vision, particularly in low light. This also reduces halos and glare, together with compensating for any contrast sensitivity loss.

ComfortMoist, Bausch & Lomb explained, is used to achieve a higher level of comfort for the user, especially those who wear their lenses for over ten hours each day.

A "unique" lens design is combined with a poloxamine packaging solution which works to attract wetness and provide sustained moisture for the eye.

"At Bausch & Lomb, we focus on perfecting vision and enhancing lives," said Mike Pier, director of North American Vision Care at the company.

"We are thrilled to provide Soflens daily disposable contact lenses to eye care professionals and their patients as the ultimate combination of long-lasting comfort and exceptional vision."

Bausch & Lomb was first established in 1852 in Rochester, New York.
