A cuff-less blood pressure monitor developed to Class 2 standards has been unveiled by Maxim Integrated Products. The MAXREFDES220# consists of a microcontroller sensor hub, an integrated optical sensor module and a sensing algorithm, and can be incorporated into wearable s or smartphones. While resting, customers can place their finger onto the device at any time for thirty to forty five seconds in order to measure their blood pressure from anywhere.
The MAX30102 and MAX30101 pulse oximeter and heart rate optical sensor modules combine LEDS, photodetectors and AFE with an incorporated cover glass.

The MAX32664D sensor hub IC contains firmware which regulates the sensor and eliminates the algorithms which assess heart rate, blood oxygen levels and cuff-less blood pressure. The MAX32664D can easily fit into small devices which will allow the connection to a device’s host microcontroller. Every four weeks, an assessment of blood pressure needs to be conducted by the customer in order to sustain above accuracies.

Maxim now provides a combination of products in a compact reference design which allows system designers to build highly accurate and based on our patient testing, the most accurate blood-pressure monitors that do not require cuffs.”
