New product development centre for Kyowa Hakko
Pharmaceutical Company RestructuresKyowa Hakko has built a new product development centre that will aid its research processes, it was announced today.
The centre will "focus on basic and application research, formulation and development" and will be led by Kazuhiro Yamamoto for Kyowa Hakko. It will be located in the heart of Tokyo and will be led by a dedicated Kyowa product team.
Kyowa Hakko states it manufactures one of the pharmaceutical one of the industry's largest lines of over 50 amino acids and other related compounds including branch-chain amino acids, nucleic acids and fine chemicals. The company has offices worldwide, including one based in Slough, Berkshire.
"This is yet another way Kyowa is taking the lead to support our customer products by providing the necessary research, information and data.
"Kyowa envisions a strong growth position with health care related ingredients by providing the technical and scientific expertise, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, marketing and sales savvy and large capacity distribution channels to launch new products.
"We are actively researching leading nutritional ingredients and consistently developing new clinical and laboratory research which will be a major benefit for Kyowa Hakko customers."
The pharmaceutical also manufactures antibiotic products as well as agents for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. It states that progress for K-6002, which is used for Parkinson's disease, has been good with steady development activities continuing worldwide.
