Manufacturing Engineer

We have a role as Manufacturing Engineer with a global corporation, based at one of their manufacturing facilities in Newquay! The business is growing and it is a great opportunity to join a well-established company within the healthcare/scientific industry.

The role heavily focuses on delivering on projects and process improvements on safety, quality and output. It will involve a mix of some hands-on and desk-based work.
Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment is required as well as demonstrable experience in process improvement.

Main duties:
· Mentoring and supervising Technicians and Setters, helping to solve manufacturing issues.
· Engineering responsibilities, support for product manufacture in key areas of the business producing quality critical product
· Generate Production documentation including Specifications, Training and Maintenance Guidelines
· Evaluate and quantify impact of production issues
· Purchase and introduce new machinery using validation and mechanical change control
· Implement cost savings to the Business via process improvements and waste reduction initiatives
· Identify areas in which engineering improvements can be made to increase quality, efficiency or safety.
· Work with production to identify priorities and ensure efficient product delivery
· Work in partnership with, suppliers, subcontractors, vendors and multi-functional teams
· Provide the communication interface between Machine, suppliers, production, engineering and maintenance departments
· Ability to prepare reports and any statistical information in regard to Production Engineering issues.

Person Specification:
Degree in Production Engineering Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
Be prepared to conduct and lead elements of customer visits
Knowledgeable in field of Manufacturing Equipment/Technology
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft packages and AutoCAD
Successful implementation of lean manufacturing techniques
Conversant with problem solving tools and techniques to drive improvement.
Experience with process improvement and various demonstrable examples.
