Science Manager, Commercial Marketing - Diagnostics

Covering the following locations: Birmingham

Do you want to work for and make a real impact on a £130m turnover, private equity backed, international healthcare business, which specialises in the development, manufacture and distribution of diagnostic products which has doubled its revenues in the last 5 years?

Principal Duties and Responsibilities.
o Create and Lead the Commercial Marketing team
o Develop and communicate vision, direction and goals of team in close alignment with product management teams
o Communicate and manage change
o Rapidly recruit & bring team to full strength and high performance
o Actively support sales in order to achieve budget
o Actively support any action or strategy to avoid price erosion
o Work closely with Scientific Communication and Medical Scientific Liaison teams to develop appropriate scientific data and communications to support marketing plans
o Guide and contribute to strategy development
o Guide the analysis of Customer Decision Journeys and development of tailored campaigns to move the customer rapidly through the journey
o Develop and implement a sales and marketing funnel for the company, rolling out worldwide
o Guide the creative development and execution of promotional campaigns in close collaboration with the Marketing Centre of Excellence
o Implement KPIs and measurement of marketing effectiveness and determine ROI for all activities
o Contribute to development of market entry strategies for new products as well as the product/portfolio roadmap by the Product Management Teams
o Contribute to product launches including preparation for market, product and commercial readiness & production of launch materials and promotions on time and in budget
o Establish and maintain relationships with global KOLs / key customers / networks

Who are we looking for?
Essential:
" Scientific degree, PhD or equivalent and/or Marketing or Business degree or MBA
" Typically 8-10 years of relevant experience, including minimum 5 years work experience in product management/marketing in the diagnostic/Life science industry & sales experience
" Minimum 2 years of people management experience & demonstrated successful leadership of an international product management and/or commercial marketing team
" Demonstrated previous success in executing strategic and tactical marketing campaigns
" Demonstrated previous experience of digital marketing
" Extensive experience of working internationally, particularly Asia Pacific and the US.
" Proven ability to lead, inspire and motivate a team
" Required to travel internationally, up to 30% including some evenings & weekends
" Full UK driving license
Desirable:
" Member of Institute of Marketing or equivalent professional body
" Deep knowledge and experience of the Chinese and Japanese markets
" Experience of marketing to pharmaceutical companies, ideally for companion diagnostics
" Experience of marketing across subsidiary organisations
" Experience of managing remote teams
" Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
" Willing to spend some time in Birmingham office.
